BEER/CIDER

At O'Neill's we offer a wide selection of draught beer. As well as local and international favourites, we have a unique choice of brews produced by Irish Craft Breweries.

STOUT
Guinness
Needs no introduction - Ireland's favourite drink.

O'Hara's
It's been branded the best stout in the world by a panel of international brewing experts, and who are we to argue? Full-bodied and wondefully smooth, it comes from the Carlow Brewing Company, based in the traditional home of malt and hop harvesting in Ireland.

Beamish
Cork's oldest brewery, and one of the most popular stouts.

Murphy's
A lighter, sweeter option, hailing out of Cork. [Top]

ALE

Galway Hooker
Bored of the taste of other ales, two proud Irish beer fans set up their own micro-brewery in the west of the country. They started producing Galway Hooker Pale Ale, now one of our most popular drinks. It's got a fresh taste that sticks in the memory.

O’Hara’s Traditional Red Ale
Another great beer from the Carlow Brewing Company. This fruity and aromatic beer has a distinctive coffee finish. The traditional hop flavour balances the sweet malty caramel taste.

Rebel Red
Hailing out the Franciscan Well Brewery in Cork - proclaimed the Best Micro-Brewery in Ireland - Rebel Red is a robust ale with a tasty caramel finish. It's hearty but it's also delicious.

Smithwick's
Ireland's oldest operating brewery, with a taste you'll remember

Kilkenny Irish Cream Ale
Originally produced just for export, it's now one of our most popular native ales.

Bass
The favourite drink of Dublin's most famous politician, Bertie Ahern.

Leffe Blonde
God bless the monks of the Notre Dame de Leffe abbey in Belgium - their centuries of brewing wisdom have given us this great ale. [Top]

LAGER

Blarney Blonde Irish Lager
Another great taste from the team at the Franciscan Well Brewery, this is a German-style beer with a fruity taste.

Harp Irish Lager
You might not find an actual harp on the bottles any more, but you'll still find the same great lager.

Budejovicky Budvar
It's become one of our most popular drinks in the past few years, with 5% volume and a memorable taste.

Carlsberg
The historic pale lager from Denmark.

Heineken
The world's most popular beer.

Miller
A gold medal winner at past Beer World Cups.

Budweiser
One of America's most popular beers, with a lighter taste than its rivals.

Budweiser Ice
Chilled to 1 degree centigrade Budweiser Ice Cold is the coldest pint on the Irish market.

Beck's
The first German beer company to use green bottles, this pale lager is a popular choice.

Fosters
It's surprisingly not big Down Under, but the rest of the world loves it.

Coors Light
First brewed in 1978, it's become a worldwide favorite.

Stella Artois
First brewed at Christmas, it's a real cracker.

Tiger Beer
Agenuine import fromt the Far East and winner of more than 35 medals. [Top]

WHEAT BEER

Erdinger Weiss Beer
A golden beer that does Germany proud and is now very popular throughout the world.

Friar Weisse
A unique yeast strain gives this wheat beer a unique flavour, a testament to the craftsmen of Cork's Franciscan Well Brewery.

Hoegaarden
With a taste developed by a milkman, this is a great Flemish product.

Paulaner
Another beer originally brewed by monks in Munich, everyone likes this brew now.

CIDER
Bulmers
Particularly popular during summer, this is Ireland's favourite cider.

Cashels
A rich taste from this cider, which is produced by Guinness.

Irish whiskey

We also stock a large selection of bottled speciality beers and malt whiskies.Irish whiskey is made from water, grain (usually barley and yeast). From these simple ingredients, one of the world’s most complex and fascinating drinks is distilled.

Ireland has had a long and tumultuous history of whiskey making and most of the 20th century has seen the closure of once great distilleries, Allmans, Dunville, Old Comber to name only a few. Today four distilleries are in production, Bushmill’s, Midleton, Cooley and recently an ancient still has been re-instated at the Old Kilbeggan Distillery creating much excitement. It will however, be some time before we get to taste this new whiskey.

Irish whiskey is famed for its marriage of full flavour with a mellow smoothness. Here the distillers and blenders arts reign supreme, and Ireland’s whiskeys are extraordinarily diverse, with many different styles possible; pure pot still, pure grain, single malt, combinations of any two or three, double distilled, triple distilled ,peated, unpeated, the variety of tastes and styles are as varied as any sector in the drinks industry.

Other Brands of Irish Whiskey
